NOVEMBER 2008 GATLINBURG SPECIAL WINTER EVENTS Lodging & Dining Discount Coupons for Your Winter Vacation in the Smokies
November 5 - Winter Magic Kickoff & Chili Cookoff - Chili vendors will serve up mouth-watering recipes of mild to wild homemade chili in portions suitable for sampling, then you will get to cast your vote for People's Choice Award once you have been pleasantly filled. Admission is only $7 for a spoon and a voting ballot, and the evening's program includes turning on the spectacular Gatlinburg Winter Magic Lights!
November 5 - January 31 - Gatlinburg Winter Magic Trolley Ride of Lights - Enjoy a guided trolley tour of Gatlinburg's spectacular Gatlinburg Winter Magic lighting displays. Departure is from the Ripley's Aquarium Trolley Station. Group reservations are available. Tours leave nightly at 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m. beginning November 5 except on December 5, 24, 25 & 31, and run each Saturday in January. Tickets on sale October 15. (865) 436-3897 ($4.00)
November 11 - Veteran's Day Celebration - Musical tributes, spoken salutations and an American Eagle appearance honor Veteran's when the city hosts its annual Veterans Day Celebration at Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies Plaza downtown Gatlinburg.
November 25 - 30 - Holiday Arts & Crafts Show - Unique handcrafted gifts made by members of Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community as they host their annual show.
November 28 - 29 - Nutcracker "Sweet" & Festival of Trees - Dozens of ornately decorated Christmas trees await visitors to this free admission Winter Wonderland at the W. L. Mills Conference Center on Friday & Saturday from 4 - 7pm. Afterwards, enjoy the sights and sounds of the holiday season with a 7 p.m. performance of Nutcracker "Sweet" by the Smoky Mountain Dance Theater Company.
